Neuromuscular Therapy is an advanced therapeutic system to evaluate and assist clients suffering from an array of pain dysfunctions through hands-on work. The approach integrates assessment skills, precise application of Trigger Point release, therapeutic stretch, and client education into an effective addition to your professional skill set.
Whether for injury recovery or taking athletic performance to a higher level, we will concentrate on the methodology to help your clients achieve their therapeutic goals - pain reduction, increased mobility, improved posture.
When performed properly, NMT is deep tissue therapy that doesn't move your clients deeper into pain, and it does not require sacrificing your body for your client's benefit.
Often considered a "Medical Massage" classification, the methods learned will help the body's neural system and myofascial systems to work in better partnership by using therapeutic techniques that relieve the spinal reflex arcs, ischemia, entrapments, compressions, biomechanical dysfunction, and more. These techniques and approaches are based on the ground-breaking research of Dr. Janet Travell and Dr. David Simons.
Together, we will review the necessary anatomy and physiology of the neuromuscular unit. We will learn to properly apply the techniques with extensive supervised hands-on practice. And, we will explore specific low back and thoracic pain patterns, as well as other common back and spinal pathologies.
In this workshop, you will learn essential principles and techniques that you can then apply anywhere in the body.
